Caring for Your Swimwear

Lily swimwear is made to last, we use the best fabrics available and we take great care when making your swimsuit or bikini, the next part comes down to you.

To care for your Lily and make it last, we recommend a couple of things;

Firstly, remember your swimsuit or bikini is a delicate product and needs to cared for as such, that means no washing machines! Hand-washing in cold water with a gentle detergent, works best for cleaning.

Secondly, please don't slide down any rocks or hard surfaces, the fabric is pilling resistant, but it can pull when rubbed against uneven/rough surfaces.

Thirdly, we recommend you dry your swimwear flat in the shade - if you can. Otherwise, take care when hanging it on a washing line/drying rack and don't put  pegs directly on the fabric, put them on the strings or straps, but preferably don't use pegs at all.

Lastly, try rinse immediately after use in fresh cold water. Hot water, chlorine and salt water will stretch and thin the fabric. We also recommend that you do not wear your swimsuit in spa baths, as this is likely to damage your swimsuit or bikini.

And remember:

    • Do not wring, soak or bleach.
    • Do not tumble dry.
    • Do not leave rolled up wet.
    • Rinse immediately after use.
    • Do not iron.
    • Do not dry clean.
    • Fake tanning products and makeup can mark and damage swimwear. Always ensure your tan is completely dry before putting on your swimsuit or bikini.
    • Some sunscreen lotions and tanning oils may mark or damage swimwear.
    • Although we use the best dyes and they are tested for rigorously for colour fastness, bright colours will naturally fade over time due to harshness of UV rays.
    • Look after your skin! Wear high factor suncreams when out in the sun.
